Welcome back to the Dog Blog, here in Antarctica! Brrrrr! We went from warm and sunny to frigid, practically overnite! I finally found a propane dealer that would put a real tank out here in the campground today! Good thing, too, because we're on our last 30# bottle, as of 6:30 AM--and it's 7 degrees out!
Puppy training is not progressing well. Sometimes we use the papers--and sometimes NOT. And I have NO IDEA why he occasionally leaves a surprise on the couch! Ugh. I ordered a bundle of "wee wee" pads, to use instead of newspaper, but it's taking it's own sweet time getting here! This picture is of the gang yesterday--this morning the black and white one (Kizzee) is UNDER the brown blanket! It's that kind of day... Little "Trouble" is thrilled--the big dogs let him into the pile! He is a pack member, at last!
It's officially the Christmas Season here, now. I put up the tree yesterday. I very nearly 'bagged' the whole thing, but since the boxes were already indoors and it was too cold to take them back outside and store them, I put it up. I doubt that the grandkids will get over here to see it, so I skipped the candy canes this year. In fact, I'm pretty sure we're going to Louisville for prime rib with friends on Christmas Day. Our daughter and her hubby are off to MN for the Holidays, and our son and family get sucked into the vortex that is his wife's Family Festivities.
Made copious amounts of oatmeal/raisin cookies yesterday and today I think I'll make persimmon bread with the pulp that I thawed out over a week ago! It hasn't begun to bubble yet, thanks to vacuum sealing, so the bread won't have that 'tang' to it, but it'll be good. The bread comes in handy for last-minute gifting...I stocked up on cute melamine Holiday plates that are just the right size for that. Think I'll fire up the bread machine, too--I seem to have overstocked on flour, for some reason???
Hubby is still working! He has worked EVERY DAY this week and they are scheduled to work tomorrow, too! It'll be his first full week of working since we came back from SD back on Memorial Day! What a weird summer! Of course, the check is already spent! They need $317 to bring out the propane tank and fill it, paid rent yesterday and the RV payment is due next week... and so it goes! :)
So, daylight has broken. Guess I'll get dressed before anyone shows up!
Oh, I forgot to mention--for our old IBMC readers.... Sue came out for coffee the other morning! We haven't seen Jack and Sue for years! He's still got his bike, but sold the camper and truck. They're both reasonably well, for 69 and 70...and still surrounded by kids, grandkids and a GREAT grandchild! (Did I mention that we're living about 5 miles from where they live? Well, we are! Pretty cool!)
Now, I'm going to get dressed......
