Doggie Prison

Yup, our 3 little stooges are sentenced to a week in the kennel, while Mom and Dad are off to Arizona! We have flight reservations, a car rental lined up and we're headed for Tucson and the Slaughter Ranch for a little face-to-face time with the couple we will probably be replacing, and our prospective employer--on his dime! :) Such a deal!

It's starting to look like our nomadic life is going on hiatus for a while... We're going to go farm and play hosts on the Ranch! Not exactly a 'stretch' for us... The climate is different and it's a looooong way from the grandkids--but that's why God invented airplanes! LOL! We think we MIGHT be able to handle this nice, steady job, and Keith is nearly beside himself with all the History involved! We'll go and see and be seen and maybe come back with a solid job offer. :) Heck, this guy already likes us so much that he hasn't called any of our references, even!

Meanwhile, back in the Midwest, the Union finally put Keith to work. He's off in the wilds of northern Indiana, living in his pickup camper in the Flyin' J parking lot and driving a finish scraper, building an airport runway. Kind of sucks, but a couple of real paychecks will be really nice! Figures that they'd put him to work, just when we need to take a week off.... *sigh*

Saturday nite was fun. We went to hear Whisper Down...an up-and-coming band made up of a bunch of old fogie college people--who just happen to have talent! LOL! It was Josh's premier with his new DRUM SET! No more keypad drumming for him... His mom and dad woulda been so proud! Lime Green Rose Hulman t-shirt and a black baseball cap turned backwards.... And swinging those sticks like he'd been doing it for years--instead of a couple of weeks!

And now, I must go back to the hum drum business of sorting clothes, packing away the serious winter stuff for another life, digging through the summer stuff and pitching out anything that doesn't fit, boxing up the 'maybe' stuff that we might want sent to us--should we be living in, say, ARIZONA! Oh, and maybe, for fun, I'll shred more papers in my new paper shredder--my Mom's Day gift. (I know, it's a far cry from flowers and candy, but I AM enjoying making all those reams of phone bills and such turn into confetti....)

Ya'll keep your fingers crossed that we come across as good in person as we have on paper and the phone....
